Project Description:

We designed custom built-in cabinetry to transform this parlor room into a private library for the client. The objective was to match the construction methods, molding profiles, style and feel of the original woodwork found throughout this 1905 home in Detroit's historic Indian Village neighborhood. The design features a fold out phonograph player, antique sconces, a millwork rebuild of the complex 14" plaster crown assembly found throughout the home's first floor, and several secret compartments. In short, all the accouterments necessary to replicate the period authentically.
